The musical is set in 2015, and is based around brother and sister, Betty and Jud Stone, who live in a council bungalow in the north of England. Betty is looking after Jud, who has terminal cancer and only a week left to live. Betty, who suffers from dementia, is determined to give Jud a good send off. They reminisce about the good old days, and relive childhood memories. They sing songs, play games, and tell stories from the past. It’s a heart-warming and emotive story about the love and affection between a brother and sister, and the heartbreak of losing a loved one. Then tragedy strikes, when Betty gets embroiled in the death of 12-year-old local boy, Danny. When she realises that she’s responsible for his death, she can’t forgive herself and decides to take her own life.
